Having Good Discussions

There's this excellent post today that kinda explained one of my deep rooted mysteries.
A corollary of that theory is that to have a good discussion, please choose a topic making sure it doesnt overlap with anyone's identity (which is hard to do when you are drunk anyways). But the greater point of that theory would be that you need to be outside of India to know India better :)

Or as Rushdie says in The Ground Beneath Her Feet
"The only people who see the whole picture are the ones who step outside the frame."
Personally for me this also explains an earlier discussion I had a couple of weeks back with a woman on VS Naipaul's biography "The World is What it is"..Anyways I love the quote which actually generated that title that says it all:

The world is what it is; men who are nothing, who allow themselves to become nothing, have no place in it.
