Long Ago God

I remember when you were god
when you were Samson and Solomon
that whenever I looked at your face
you were a pyramid,
abutting the sky and luminescent like Polaris
with showers of light coloring your shadow
It was then
that the mere hint of your voice
ended my day-long aches
and it was then
that a gingerly touch from your hands
turned erstwhile gloom into blue sky
I remember when you were god
You were the breath of the Nile
flowing, flapping your wings
and generating perfection
It was then
that I cherished the day
when, I too, could approximate you
I remember when you were god

Digression I suppose, but this reminnds me of John Lennon...

God is a Concept by which we measure our pain
I'll say it again God is a Concept by which we measure our pain

I don't believe in magic
I don't believe in I-ching
I don't believe in Bible
I don't believe in Tarot
I don't believe in Hitler
I don't believe in Jesus
I don't believe in Kennedy
I don't believe in Buddha
I don't believe in Mantra
I don't believe in Gita
I don't believe in Yoga
I don't believe in Kings
I don't believe in Elvis
I don't believe in Zimmerman
I don't believe in Beatles
I just believe in me...and that reality

The dream is over
What can I say?
the Dream is Over
Yesterday
I was the Dreamweaver
But now I'm reborn
I was the Walrus
But now I'm John
and so dear friends
you'll just have to carry on
The Dream is over

:))

Whoa! Yopur digression put me into another.

>I was the Walrus

Imspired me to play with my li'l imagination on the poem The Walrus and The Carpenter

'Imagine' that Walrus and Carpenter are mapped to God/Satan or Heaven/Hell and Humans the Oysters.

-----------------------------
And thick and fast they came at last,

And more, and more, and more—
All hopping through the frothy waves,

And scrambling to the shore.
------------------------------

Thanks for that comment to trigger this.I hope you are not a dreamer.

A friend of mine is going thru this phase where he's reading all these books that prove Jesus was a mere mortal, like the rest of us - not God...this post reminded me of his ramblings on the subject!

It's a well-written poem...sad you don't know who is the poet...

[Bonnie] Agreed!

[Gee] Mortal or Immortal..Thats an infinite question. The reason I dont have the authors for these poems are because a certain guy was posting these in emails to a certian girl and the headers/footers were missing in the emails and hence I present them as it is..

some body in the interview asked me,do u believe in god.
i said "does this make any difference if i don't? "
the sarcastic bugger said "ya it does...we dont want DEMONS in our company " lol....lol.....lol....
DEMON....i wish if could be one
but alas DEMON has more power than god...thats why he succeeds in his plans.
dont belive in bible/god/demon/hitler/tarot/jesus/allah/...what ever
find the demon in you...make him work positively for u...its tough but u gotta try.
