A Mouthful of Sky

Earth, Wind, Rain and Fire
Wealth, Power, Blood and Desire
One life to live, Before we die..
One Taste of Glory
One Story
One Mouthful of Sky

Now how many of you remember this serial which used to be aired on DD-2 11:00 pm during the early 1990s (Cant place it exactly.).Anyways the four elements, the four pillars of civilisation and some faily inspiring lyrics helped me jog my memory now for some reason..Anyways its a good jingle

Oh I remember that serial...terribly wooden "actors" - Milind Soman must cringe now when he looks back at his "Mouthful of Sky" days..not that he's much better now!

You are right. But Rahul Bose was good ,Dont you agree?

G Shrivastava said...

Oh yes - Rahul Bose ROCKS!!! Incidentally what did you think of "Mr and Mrs.Iyer"?

Paddy said...

Awesome. My fave line was "Fish Eyed Lens" dialogue in the train.Mrs.Iyer's name was Meenakshi so you see the correlation.

BTW I noticed I always like movies made by bongs (with two bongs added Bose and Sen)

Well you know what they say about Bongs and Brains, Bongs and Beauty... I have always admired them for the intelligence, creativity, talent and looks and an observation I've made is that they tend to extremes - they are either excellent, or extremely mediocre. No middle-way for them! Ofcourse this also tends to stereotype...

That serial was aired in 1995. I was captivated by the title song...and started watching the serial just because of the title song!

Earth Wind and Rain and Fire,
Wealth Power Blood...Desire
One Goal to Live for Before We Die
One Taste of Glory...
One Mouthful of Sky....

The second verse was...
So let's make a start...
You give your hand...
Divided we fall...
Together we stand....

When I was in my middle school this serial used to air. There was lot of curiosity for this serial in modern youth and teens. I don't remember any thing about its story but feel very nostalgic about this poem and do remember aging when I need some motivation. Because those days when I was in depression (useless one.. you know being a Teen your mind works really wired )This poem has given me the motivation that life is about dreaming and achieving it.

I was struck by the title song. I thought it was really good compared to all the other title sonds that usually air on Indian TV. Dont remember much of the story, lot of good-looking people though.

Most memorable..The song started with photo clicks of then famed models (Nah the word celebrity didn't exist then)...The serial was acceptable and the very first of its kind coz every syllable spoken resonated with the hopes ,aspirations of the youth. The serial made a got attempt to have a mystery thriller type story line though it did falter and was technically flawed but nevertheless it had teenagers glued to it and eagerly waiting for it .Many of the actors now celebs have criticized it in retrospect but you know what it still rules our hearts many years thence and yes We do feel Nostalgic.

I remember all the characters Pawan, Akash, Varsha, Shivani etc
I named my elder son as Pawan because of the character played by Rahul Bose.
Looking to hear the title song once again. any one have or find please share with me.
